Briars Nursery

Neutral Boho Aesthetic Nursery on a budget

We need to remember the previous appearance of this space. The wall was the bluest shade of blue, and it was a spare bedroom. YUCK! As soon as the blue was gone, the space looked completely different. The power of paint still blows my mind . Wall Colour is - Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore .

Before

Poor quality image . But you get the idea and vibe of just how awful it was .

Can we all agree that creating these spaces for our tiny little humans is quite literally the best thing ever ?

When we were expecting our first we had no idea what were having, so we were stuck getting creative when designing the nursery which sometimes can be quite intimidating when trying to find the right color palletes to work with . As well as bringing in pieces that weren’t commonly used when it came to the typical girl and boy items .

But when it came to designing the space for our sweet boy, I was bursting with inspiration and eager to bring my vision to life . 8 months pregnant, with a half-designed nursery, and when unexpected events forced our family to move, I was still determined to finish the room before he made his arrival .

Wow and more WOW! I'm in awe after seeing how this space turned out; it might have been even better than I had anticipated. I did, in fact, work on this space until the day he decided to arrive. While nine months pregnant, i continued to use all the power tools and build the final pieces of furniture needed .

Let's move on to the exciting part and look at all the gorgeous pieces that brought this space to life .

After

We went with the best seller Sniglar crib from IKEA . I loved my creamy whites and light woods when it comes to interiors . I love the clean look of the Sniglar crib and of course the price is already a steal but with a quick facebook marketplace scan i found one for $70 .

When creating my mood board for the nursery i instantly knew i wanted an arch behind the crib . I had done all my research pinning all the DIY’s on how to paint one .Before discovering the ideal one-color, size-and-all decal from @rockymountaindecals. We went with the Sage Boho Arch Decal in the size 60’ x 60’ . ( CODE; HOLLY to save ) It was such a seamless process and easy application the arch comes in two separate pieces and requires no tools ( except for the one it comes with ) .

The most cherished heirloom item. @timberwoodcreations provided the name scripts for us. I absolutely adore light wood tones, so choosing the two-toned hickory was a no-brainer for me.

When I say that this rug steals the spotlight in this room, I'm not joking. This rug has received nothing but praise from YOU GUYS!! I've never been a fan of patterned rugs, but I've soon discovered that doing so adds so much to a room. Mixing patterns and textures is a MUST. Almost everything was finished, except with my lack of decision-making and hours spent aimlessly scrolling through my phone in search of the perfect rug to tie it all together. We went with the RUG USA Beige Fading Herati Medallion Rug 7’10” X 10′, and 120 percent did not let us down , not to mention how incredible this rug photographs . 11/10 recommend.

I originally had the Ikea BJRKSNS in mind for the dresser in the nursery, but if I'm being absolutely honest, it wasn't budget friendly. Instead, we went with the Ikea Tarva Dresser and swapped out the wooden knobs for Osternas leather strap handles.
